I have put these aftermarket type intakes on Olds 425 engines too with good results, just use a thicker intake composite gasket, not the thin OEM metal gasket if you're going to in as some of had slightly different architecture, using older V degree angle. The chart I found on-line shows the power increase using this exact product. This intake manifold came to me in a box with 72 Olds 442 that I bought. All the threads appear to be in good condition, nothing looks stripped out.

But if you use the thicker composite gasket type material it should work fine on a 425 at least is did for me and I more than one of them. It will fit all Big Block Olds engines 400 and 455 - just gasket bolt on. From what I've read, the Air-Gap design separates runners from heat of lifter-valley cover. So, the air/fuel mixture stays cooler all way to heads, which produces a denser charge for more power.
